Managing Director
David Bulling Dip. Engineering (Civil)
As co-founder, Dave brings his energy and passion to see Cook Brothers Construction becoming New Zealand’s preferred construction supplier. With a strong commercial business background, Dave’s responsibilities include planning, system analysis and implementation of our strategic goals.
Dave enjoys skiing, ice hockey and boating.
Director - Business Development
Sam Rofe Trade Cert. Joinery
Sam heads our business development initiatives throughout New Zealand. With his extensive background in Project Management & Sales and Marketing, Sam provides our clients both the confidence and the resources to ensure successful project delivery.
Sam is married with two children and enjoys family holidays at Lake Manapouri.
Director - Non-Executive
Ben Bulling NZCE
As co-founder, Ben contributes to Strategic Planning and goal setting for our group of companies. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience gained from senior roles within New Zealand’s Generation and Transmission Industry.
Ben enjoys spending time with his young family and getting out on his dirt bike in the central South Island.

Finance & Administration Manager
Tania Todd
With over 25 years experience in financial accounts and office management for local government agencies and a wide range of companies, Tania provides our clients with clear and accurate financial information and is extremely positive and approachable.
Tania enjoys biking, kayaking and spending time with her family. To date, Tania retains the record for the largest snapper caught by a CBC team member.
National Zero Harm Manager
Robert Pomare BAM, Grad-NZISM, MNZISM, HRINZ, Dip HSM, Dip BM, Dip FLM, Nat. Cert. Civil Construction Management Health, Safety and Environment LEVEL 4. Currently studying for MBA.
Accomplished Safety, Health and Environment specialist Manager with 20 plus years, experience in industry leading organisations. Rob has invaluable experience in delivering excellent safety results on multi-million dollar construction projects, with the ability to analyse operations, pin point area’s for improvement and redesign, and implement plans that generate profitable results.
Rob’s strong background in Safety Management means that he is able to deliver a safe site at all times ensuring every member of our team remains fit and healthy so that they can continue to enjoy those things in life that are the most important to them.
Outside of work, Rob enjoys spending time with his family and taking the kids hunting or fishing on the weekends.
Commercial Manager - Otago
Blair McGill Dip. MEEC Trade Cert. Carpentry
Blair’s proven experience in delivering some of Dunedin’s most iconic and demanding commercial construction projects is well known, and highly regarded. Proudly ‘Born and Bred’, Blair’s regional knowledge adds real depth to our Otago operation.
Blair enjoys spending time with his family and trail bike riding.

Commercial Manager ( Director ) - Southern Lakes
Simon Glass Cert. Civil Construction Supervision Currently studying for Dip. Engineering (Civil)
Simon joins the Southern Lakes team with 10 years experience in the civil construction industry. One of his professional highlights to date includes working as a Project Manager on a hydropower scheme in North Luzon, Philippines. Simon has extensive local knowledge of the Southern Lakes area, having lived there for the past 18 years.
During the last 9 years, Simon has achieved great success as the Captain of the NZ Ice Hockey Team. When he’s not scoring goals on the rink, he enjoys hunting and alpine skiing.

Commercial Manager - Canterbury
Grant Harris
Grant brings with him 20 years in the industry with qualifications in carpentry and architectural draughting, extensive Project Management experience, and the drive to see Cook Brothers become an integral part of the restoration of Christchurch. An excellent communicator and with passion to boot, Grant is totally committed to succeeding in this region.
A voluntary member of the NZ Institute of Building, Grant is also a keen outdoorsman with interests in running, cycling, kayaking and camping, as well as spending quality time with his young family.

Senior Project Manager - Otago
Brett Nairn BA (Hons) Otago Trade Cert. Carpentry
With an extensive New Zealand-based grounding in construction, coupled with the proven ability to deliver complex projects to programme and budget, Brett heads our Project Delivery Team with confidence. Brett has interests in education, architecture and building ecology.
He loves a good challenge, and regularly spends time in the great outdoors with his wife and teenage family.
Project Manager - Auckland
Rupert Curry Trade Cert. Joinery Currently studying for Dip. Construction Management
Joining the Cook Brothers Team as a builder in May of 2010, Rupert brings with him 6 years’ experience as a joinery shop apprentice, specialising in shop and bar fit outs. Originally from Tauranga, Rupert is now based in Auckland – although he still manages projects in the Tauranga area. Ruperts latest project is the new build for BNZ Morrinsville, which is due for completion in March 2012.
Rupert enjoys 4x4 off-road racing and often competes in the national series; he is also keen on outdoor adventure activities
Project Manager - Auckland
Russell Smith Trade Cert. Carpentry Trade Cert. Joinery
As a new arrival to the Cook Brothers team, Russell brings with him over 39 years of experience in the construction industry. Russell has a proven track record in managing high quality commercial and residential projects within deadlines and on budget. One of his favourite to date was the sole charge of Rarotonga airport’s new arrivals and departure terminal. Working in the midst of paradise made for a rewarding experience.
In his spare time Russell loves boating, fishing (although he hates the taste of his catch) and travelling with his wife.
Senior Quantity Surveyor - Otago
Graeme Ahlbrandt Dip. Quantity Surveying Trade Cert. Carpentry
With experience over 30 years in our industry, Graeme provides not only detailed take-offs and elemental estimates for ‘Design Builds’, but contributes significantly to our build methodology – vital in the preparation of our Construction Programmes.
Graeme enjoys time with his wife and family on his lifestyle block at Waikouaiti - on the ‘Sunshine Coast’.
Quantity Surveyor - Otago
Cagan Burrows Dip. Quantity Surveying Dip. Construction Management
With 5 years construction experience as an apprentice builder, Cagan joined the Cook Brothers Construction team 15 months ago after completing his dual diploma in Quantity Surveying and Construction Management. Working alongside Graeme Ahlbrandt our Senior Quantity Surveyor, Cagan's role involves providing elemental estimates, tender take-off documentation and preparing variation costing throughout our projects.
In his spare time Cagan enjoys fishing, hunting and running.
Quantity Surveyor - Southern Lakes
Emily Potter BSc (Hons) QS & Commercial Management Currently studying for MSc Project Management
With over 13 years experience in the international construction Industry, Emily is involved with tendering, procurement, cost planning and control from project inception through to completion.
In her spare time Emily enjoys hunting, walking, camping and visiting new places.
Quantity Surveyor - Canterbury
Paul Banister
With 7 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor and Project Manager within the commercial construction industry, Paul has worked on projects ranging from office and bank refurbishments to the construction of prisons and government buildings in various locations around New Zealand. This variety of projects allows Paul to bring effective solutions to a wide range of construction scenarios. Paul is excited and proud to be part of the Canterbury Rebuild with Cook Brothers Construction.
Outside of work Paul enjoys playing sport or being a spectator and relaxing with a cold beer.
Quantity Surveyor - Auckland
Adam Olson
Dip. Quantity Surveying
A welcome addition to the Cook Brothers team, Adam brings with him extensive property experience and over four years experience in the building industry. Adam has worked on a number of projects, with his favourites to date being; the Auckland Viaduct tunnel, Auckland Art Gallery and the Aotea Square redevelopment. With a diploma in Quantity Surveying, Adam enjoys winning jobs and working with numbers.
With aspriations to one day own his own Property Development Company, Adam has purchased property in Queenstown – where in his spare time he likes to snowboard, go fishing & travel.
