About the Role

This is a fixed term travelling role where you will be involved in hands on development and training of our apprentices across the four regions – Southern Lakes, Otago, Canterbury and Auckland.

You will use your high level knowledge and experience in carpentry to provide on the job training for our apprentices.

In this role you will be assisting our Site Managers to motivate, mentor, and develop our apprentices into an integral part of our team.

 

Main Responsibilities include:

  • Providing on the job training for our apprentices
  • Driving the performance behaviours required to help our apprentices reach their self selected goals
  • Identifying areas where we can produce better learning outcomes
  • Encouraging apprentices to ask questions and learn the Cook Brothers way
  • Identify skill, ability and knowledge gaps and performance barriers
    Identify areas where apprentices may have fallen off track with their goals and re-align
  • Involvement in implementing and delivering our apprentice development programme across the regions
  • Involvement alongside the HR Manager and Regional Mangers in recruitment & team selection of apprentices
     

About You

You are highly skilled in carpentry and have a passion for sharing your knowledge and skillset to see others achieve.

  • Energetic, charismatic, and positive personality
  • Coaching, training, and mentoring experience required
  • Commercial Construction experience preferred
  • Inspires strong engagement and commitment in others
  • Passion for quality carpentry
  • Health and Safety orientated
  • Excellent communication skills
  • First-hand experience on site training apprentices
  • Team player
