About the Role

Due to the pending retirement of a highly valued and senior member of our team, this role has become available.

You will work with an excellent client base who have strong and loyal relationships with Cook Brothers Construction. The region has a very healthy forward order book.

This role will responsible for providing support to the Regional Manager in delivering a successful outcome for the region. You will be involved in the full lifecycle of projects, from initial contact to post-completion.

Your main duties will include:

  • Acting as the trusted advisor for the Regional Manager and Senior Leaders in all things transactional and contractual
  • Commercial risk management and reporting
  • Cost controlling/cash flow management and reporting
  • Budgeting
  • Forecasting and reporting
  • Subtrade packages and tenders
  • Assess progress claims and variations
  • Assessing tenders and negotiated opportunities for risk and assisting with pricing when required
  • Relationship building with internal and external stakeholders
  • Working closely with the Quantity Surveyors on challenges and opportunities

About you

  • 10+ years' experience, working on commercial projects in New Zealand
  • Experience with Main Contractor
  • Proven experience building relationships with a diverse range of clients
  • Relevant diploma/degree
  • Experience preparing high-quality tenders
  • Experience successfully managing costs through a project life cycle
  • Strong commercial acumen and knowledge of construction law
  • Incredible work ethic
  • Most importantly – the ability to work well within a team and have a good sense of humour
