About the Role

Based out of our Dunedin office and reporting through to the CFO, we are looking for a motivated IT Manager to become an integral part of our National Group team making a real contribution to the wider business and its digital strategy.

Our IT department is made up of a team of two, our friendly IT Coordinator will help manage level 1 and 2 helpdesk queries, and act as a support on IT projects.

The role will be responsible for ensuring powerful operation of our systems and infrastructure, providing IT and Tech support to our team and looking for innovative ways to enhance our technology. You will maintain, build and design our Data Warehouse and ensure it is optimized for our BI system.

You will have autonomy to be able to bring your own knowledge, passion and skillset to add to our team and be able to develop your skillset through full exposure of self-directed projects.

 

Your Responsibilities:

  • Managing information technology and back end computer systems
  • Controlling and evaluating IT and electronic data operations
  • Effective communication
  • Manage IT co-ordinator - training, coaching and communicating job expectations and appraising their performance
  • Providing Level 3 support
  • Design, develop, implement and coordinate back end systems infrastructure, policies and procedures
  • Ensure security of data, network access and backup systems
  • Act in alignment with user needs and back end system functionality to contribute to organisational policy
  • Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions in time
  • Audit systems and assess their outcomes
  • Preserve assets, information security and control structures
  • Handle annual budget and ensure cost effectiveness


About You

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in supporting Windows Operating Systems, Window Servers, Linux Servers and/or Internet based technologies preferred
    Knowledge of SQL
  • Systems Engineer background desirable
  • Knowledge of IT Security
  • Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and of computer hardware/software systems
  • Expertise in data centre management and data governance
  • Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration and network installation
  • Strong leadership and management capabilities
  • Project management experience
  • Experience with databases and data warehousing development would be as asset
  • BS in Computer Science, MIS or similar field would be an advantage
