We have a variety of work from concrete/formwork to steel stud/suspended ceilings, from exterior cladding to interior fit out and finishing work.

To be considered you must have the following:
– 4+ years trade qualified here or overseas
– Strong commitment to working Monday to Friday with some weekend work
– Prepared to work across the wider Canterbury

Build Team Manager (Site Manager) – Fitouts

We are looking for a Fit Out Site Manager

The Build Team Manager (Site Manager) Role is responsible for leading, supporting and assisting a group of carpenters/apprentice carpenters to ensure well executed projects.
You will be someone who enjoys the mix of being on the tools and leading a team which includes leading:

  • Tool Box talks
  • Health and Safety
  • Oversight of quality to minimize rework,
  • Complete time sheets and other relevant paperwork
  • Provide direction and coaching where appropriate,
  • Co-ordination of sub-contractors and review of works carried out
  • Execution, control and completion of works
  • Close working relationship with the Quantity Surveyor and Project Manager to ensure variations are managed well

As a suitable candidate you will possess:

  • 7+ years NZ building experience post qualifications (preferred)
  • Licensed Building Practitioner
  • Gold Card or higher
  • Communication – building and maintaining positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Proven ability to contribute to the delivery of a profit to the business
  • Negotiation skills
  • Must be familiar with NZ National building code
  • Proven leadership experience
  • Coaching/mentoring experience
  • High level of integrity
  • Proven report writing skills
  • Sound Financial and budgeting skills preferred
  • Intermediate Microsoft outlook, word, excel and project
  • Understanding of Zero Harm in the work place
  • Ability to work and effectively contribute to a close working team
  • Ability to work independently
  • Current Drivers Licence

Maintenance Foreman

Cook Brothers Construction is an maintenance and construction services company, operating nationally. We are an exciting company that offers the training, opportunities and support you need to build a successful career.

Cook Brothers Construction is seeking a hardworking and experienced working Maintenance Foreman to work with the team in Auckland. This is a fast paced turnover role where attention to detail and quality are important.

As the Maintenance Foreman you are responsible for providing hands-on, on-site supervision for a team when required, prepared to be on the tools and ensuring assigned work is carried out within agreed time frames. Meets or exceeds client expectations.

Skills required:

  • Trade Qualification in Construction
  • Experience in a Supervisory role
  • Enjoys being on the tools
  • Experiences in commercial/residential and building maintenance
  • Competent in managing health and safety of staff and sub trades
  • Full drivers licence
  • 2 relevant referees

Project Manager – Commercial Fitouts

Cook Brothers Construction has been operating for over 11 years. With a strong client base and repeat business opportunities in both the residential and commercial sector, including a strong maintenance portfolio . The business is built on experience with a team who focus on delivery of quality projects.

You will be administering and overseeing the construction of Fitout projects. This is a fast paced environment with quick turn around of projects so it is important that you are someone with  experience in Fitout projects.

Take the lead with an experienced team, liaise with sub contractors, clients and construction professionals. Strong communication skills is important along with the ability to program and schedule. You have the opportuinity to make a great impact in this role.

To be considered for the role of Project Manager you will need:

  • A trade carpentry background or a formal construction qualification
  • Demonstrate comprehensive experience, 5+ years in the commercial sector as a Project Manager
  • A solid understanding of NZ building codes and construction methods and have led multiple projects simultaneously
  • Communication skills
  • Computer skills to an advanced level
  • Demonstrated leadership and a strong team ethic is critical to the success of this role
