About the Role: Estimator, Queenstown

Reporting to the National Pre-Construction Manager, this role is accountable for delivering accurate cost plans, tender bids, feasibility studies, and end-to-end tender management. Your strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills will support effective relationships across both internal teams and external partners.

We offer flexibility in where you are based, with opportunities available in Otago, Queenstown, Wānaka, Auckland, or Canterbury.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare tenders from $500K through to $20M+
• Complete precise measurement and pricing of builder’s quantities
• Coordinate tender documentation and manage bid submissions
• Build and maintain strong relationships across the industry
• Source, assess, and compare quotes from trade partners and suppliers
• Analyse land, building, and project data to support decision-making
• Carry out detailed due diligence to assess the cost implications of tender documentation

About You

You will bring a strong mix of technical capability and industry experience, with the confidence to lead, communicate clearly, and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced pre-construction environment. Your background enables you to contribute meaningful insights, support collaborative decision-making, and uphold accuracy across all estimating activities.

Key Requirements

• A minimum of 6 years post-graduate experience in commercial construction estimating for Tier 2 (preferred) main contractors within New Zealand and/or Australia
• Bachelor of Construction Management (Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics advantageous) or a related qualification
• Demonstrated experience measuring a diverse range of projects, including new builds and fit-outs
• Skilled in a range of estimating and project management software tools
• Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively
