About the Role: Estimator, Queenstown

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our dynamic team in Queenstown, Otago. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the building and construction industry by providing accurate cost estimates for various projects. This permanent, full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our company's growth and success while working in a beautiful location.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for building and construction projects based on project specifications and drawings.
  • Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and gather necessary information for accurate estimations.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to ensure all aspects of the project are considered in the estimates.
  • Analyse labour, material, and overhead costs to provide comprehensive pricing.
  • Maintain and update a database of costs and pricing for future reference.
  • Assist in the preparation of tender submissions and proposals.
  • Review and adjust estimates based on project changes or client feedback.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations throughout the estimation process.

The ability to this strategically, communicate clearly, and engage effectively with stakeholders ensures real commercial value across the estimating lifestyle.

Contributing informed insights strengthens decision-making, protects margins and supports successful project acquisition. Strong relationships building skills enable seamless collaboration with internal teams and external partners, driving alignment and results.

  • A relevant qualification in construction, engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in estimating within the building and construction industry.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficient in estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
