About the Role: Pre-Construction Manager, Queenstown

This is a key commercial leadership role where you will be involved in tendering, client relationships, contract management, and strategic business growth. You will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure every project is delivered safely on time and to the highest of standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide effective leadership on commercial strategies, sharing expertise in methodology and buildability
  • Contribute to buildability and methodology within the Pre-Construction team
  • Prepare tender and construction programmes
  • Support tender win strategies and pitch presentations to clients, including post-tender interviews
  • Maintain and leverage existing networks and develop new relationships to support business growth
  • Participate in pricing solutions to ensure value for both clients and Cook Brothers Construction
  • Identify and foster a network of preferred clients for Cook Brothers Construction
  • Develop and implement tender win strategies and commercial policies to mitigate risk and ensure compliance
  • Engage early with contractors during tender preparation

About You

A Business Degree or Diploma, combined with at least 6 years’ experience in the construction industry across roles such as Project Management, Site Management, Quantity Surveying, or Commercial Management, forms the foundation for success in this role.

Strong technical writing and communication skills, paired with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with key industry stakeholders, are essential.

Proven project management experience, coupled with strong negotiation skills and a thorough understanding of the construction industry and its key drivers, underpins your capability to deliver results. Confidence in leading and motivating teams, while contributing positively to a collaborative environment, completes the profile of an ideal candidate.

Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Project and Word are a must, as well as clear and professional communication, both written and verbal. Experience with CmBuilder would be advantageous.
