About the Role: Structural Engineer, Queenstown

We’re looking for an experienced and solutions‑focused Structural Engineer to join our team in Queenstown. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys tackling complex engineering challenges, collaborating with great people, and seeing their work come to life on site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading structural design, engineering analysis, and calculations across a range of commercial projects
  • Designing and coordinating structural systems in concrete, steel, timber, and masonry, including temporary works
  • Preparing and reviewing drawings, specifications, technical documents, and engineering reports
  • Carrying out site inspections and ensuring construction aligns with structural intent and compliance requirements
  • Working closely with architects, consultants, subcontractors, and internal project teams throughout all project phases
  • Identifying structural risks early and developing practical, cost‑effective solutions
  • Ensuring all structural work meets NZ Building Code requirements and industry standards
  • Providing technical leadership, guidance, and problem‑solving support to project teams

Skills and Experience:

  • Tertiary qualification in Structural Engineering Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng)
  • A minimum of at least 10 years’ experience in structural design and commercial construction
  • Strong technical knowledge across steel, concrete, timber, and masonry construction methods
  • Proficiency with structural analysis software and CAD platforms
  • High level of analytical and problem‑solving ability
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams
  • Proven experience managing design consultants and technical teams
  • Strong attention to detail and a solutions‑focused mindset
  • Ability to work both independently and within a high‑performing team
  • Solid understanding of NZ building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards
