The wreath was used by our team working on the Northpoint Development in Rangiora, located directly opposite the Rangiora War Memorial, where the Anzac Day services are held. Project Manager Brent McMillan and Site Manager Dave Taylor had the honour of representing Cook Brothers Construction by laying our handcrafted wooden wreath at the Rangiora Anzac Day Service.
Constructed from reclaimed wood, it stood as a unique and heartfelt gesture - representing the spirit of Anzac remembrance while also highlighting the craftsmanship and pride of our team. The ceremony itself was deeply moving, bringing together the Waimakariri community in a shared expression of remembrance and gratitude for those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
A few thousand people lined the streets, making it an incredibly powerful and meaningful event for the entire Waimakariri District. The atmosphere was filled with respect, reflection, and a strong sense of unity. The handcrafted wreath received special mention from the RSA President, who also acknowledged the Northpoint project and Cook Brothers Construction.
What might have been a simple gesture became something far greater - a symbol of respect, remembrance, and genuine care. The time, skill, and dedication put into crafting the wreath were recognised by all and truly honoured the memory of those who gave so much.
We will remember them. Lest we forget.
