Northlake Village Centre

Northlake is one of Wanaka’s premier developments, well located close to the town centre, schools, Lake Wanaka, the Clutha River and all the recreational opportunities that they bring.

Cook Brothers were engaged by Winton Partners to complete the Northlake Village Centre consisting of a full design and build package including a restaurant, childcare, landscaping and associated shared access ways. A commercial building added partway through completion, created another level of complexity to the overall package and delivery.

The inclement South Island weather and environmental conditions, together with the added pressures of a high profile public project, required our Southern Lakes team to rise to all challenges with careful planning and innovation. Sustainability was a focus on this project with the use of recycled corrugated iron on the Monkey Farm Restaurant and then on a small structure in the childcare’s playground, helping to connect the building design together. 

Cook Brothers Construction was proud to deliver such a diverse and versatile hub to the Wanaka community complete with the Monkey Farm cafe and bar, Pinnacles childcare centre and boutique retail spaces. Constructed from natural materials including American White Ash, Radiata Pine and Western Red Cedar the Northlake area truly reflects the natural beauty of the Wanaka area.
