Onsen Hot Pools Extension

Our Southern Lakes team were proud to complete an extension to the Onsen Hot Pools and Day Spa, located in Jacks Point in Queenstown. 

Situated on a steep hillside, the site presented unique challenges, which required deep piling and meticulous planning to ensure stability and safety. Construction was executed while the facility remained operational, which required a focus on minimising noise and disruption to guests. The scope of work included site excavation, the construction of new spa rooms and guest amenities, integration with existing services, and a high-quality interior fit-out.

Throughout the construction process, the project team implemented several changes to the original scope, adding features such as additional drainage, plunge pools, steam rooms, and upgraded finishes. These modifications led to a seamless integration of the new structures with the existing spa, ultimately resulting in enhanced privacy, additional spa areas, and luxurious finishes.

Creative solutions were adopted to navigate the steep terrain and operational constraints, including the use of smaller equipment and the careful scheduling of deliveries. This approach ensured that construction progressed smoothly, allowing for the successful delivery of a complex project while significantly improving the overall customer experience in a sensitive natural setting.
